3 GIRLGUIDING IN NORTH BADDESLEY RAINBOWS: 1st North Baddesley Pack (girls aged 5 – 6 yrs) Coming to an End Our Centenary year is nearly at an end now, with special closing ceremonies planned to take place all over the country on the 20th of October, 2010. Before that happens, however, there are still plenty of adventures to be enjoyed. My own pack is off on a Bank Holiday Weekend Break to a PGL Holiday Camp at Weymouth. This site as well as others is being completely taken over by Brownies for a special weekend, organised by Girlguiding UK. It should be full of adventurous activities and we are all looking forward to it. Every section in Girlguiding has had marvellous opportunities of camps, holidays and one day events all over the country this year, so it has been a great year to be involved in Girlguiding. The end of this special year for us does not, however, mean the end of us! Far from it, with the Girlguiding movement thriving and involving huge numbers of girls and volunteers, we have bags of enthusiasm driving us forward into our next century. The amount of change we saw during the last century was enormous, but with the current speed of change in our society, the future looks like being very exciting. We are a very modern organisation now, in many ways, but have not lost our values and traditions. We are intent on helping girls and women to achieve their full potential in life, ensuring our motto of putting "Girls in the lead!" So if anyone out there wants to joins us, please get in touch, or to find out more about us, have a look at our Website http://www.girlguiding.org.uk Dianne Speight (Tawny Owl)
