NORTH BADDESLEY TWINNING ASSOCIATION

Treasure Trailing in Romsey

A new venture was experienced by 41 members of the North Baddesley Twinning Association during the evening of Friday 1st August. They were lucky weather-wise, because it was quite threatening throughout the evening; in fact it turned quite wet shortly after the event finished!

Although this was something entirely new for most of those attending, everyone agreed that it was an enjoyable time and the remark "I’ve lived here all these years and never noticed that before!", was often to be heard.

Catching up on the many and various historical points of Romsey, those taking part raised funds not only for the association, but also for the "Brain Tumour UK" charity; so it was indeed not only a good social time, but a very worthwhile exercise.

With a total of 53 questions to be answered, there were three pairs who drew for first position with a total of 50 correct; well done to Judith and Rob, Lesley and Dave and Les and Julie. A close second place with a score of 48 was secured by Rob and Sue, while a joint third place went to Don and Sylvie and Peter and Maria who had scores of 47; well deserved congratulations were certainly in order for them all.

The three winning pairs had their names put into a hat and the winning couple was Judith and Rob and they were duly presented by the association’s chairman Robin Oliver with a "Treasure-Chest of Goodies", plus a certificate kindly put together by Lynda Barnes.

Our next social and fund-raising event is our quiz-night due to be held on the 26th September; tickets available from any committee member.
